Who am I?
aeden universe, or “The Vessel“, is a Brazilian artist born in 2002. Their art tends to focus on art itself, often creating a self-referential, recursive labyrinth. Other frequent themes are death, mathematics, love, mental health, and the ineradicability of hope despite the futility of effort.
During gestation, their mother had an incomplete miscarriage, which deeply affected The Vessel’s brain development. Information is scarce about this time. It is not known which idiosyncrasies were directly caused by this, which were informed, which were synergized, and which were unrelated. Most diagnoses and doctor visits were made relatively later into their development than is typical of people born with life-changing disorders, with a majority of professional analysis being done after the age of 20.
During childhood, aeden universe’s thought patterns and abilities were deeply shaped by their neurodivergence. Being on the Autism Spectrum, combined with having an elusive yet persistent motor skill deficiency caused by their neurology, caused universe’s behavior to appear as particularly off-putting to their peers, leading to depression, abandonment/general anxiety, and frequent anger outbursts related to self-hate, extreme confusion, and lack of control.
The Vessel’s behavior was also shaped strongly by severe inattentive ADHD, often leaving them in an unresponsive state during a majority of the day. During these states, they would come up with stories to pass the time. They eventually morphed into findaeden.
Today, aeden universe focuses on telling their stories, their mental health, giving a platform to as many different artists as possible, helping others in general, learning, and repeatedly falling in love.
